A letter from Stan Bower to the businessmen in the St. Louis region:

Stan Bower

Dear Friends,

I bet you wonder, “What is Stan up to with CBMC?”

Here is a snapshot of what’s been happening with CBMC Metro St. Louis:

  • Key Man Meetings (Sept. 8 & 10, 2015) – More than 100 men came out to hear Mark Whitacre speak on the value of a man and discipleship.
  • Couples Conference (Sept. 12, 2015) - Dan and Kelly Hillis partnered with Jeff and Tonya Tullis to help 23 couples learn about emotional intimacy. These leaders will now host weekly small groups with couples from the conference to foster even deeper personal growth in their marriages.
  • CBMC Golf Classic (Sept. 28, 2015) – Along with a great day of golf at Meadowbrook Country Club, NFL Hall of Famer, Aeneas Williams, shared his story with our golfers and guests at the luncheon. We hosted over 120 golfers this year.
  • 16th Annual Chautauqua Retreat (Oct. 2-3, 2015) – We gathered in the picturesque Mississippi River valley at Chautauqua with 40 men to hear featured speaker, Bruce Witt of Leadership Revolution, teach from his new book entitled, What Are You Giving Your Life To?  It was a huge weekend!
  • Wild Game Luncheon & Sporting Clays – Many of the Chautauqua Retreat attendees met at Otter Creek Hunting Club before the start of the retreat for a wild game lunch and The Annual Mike Sennett Memorial Sporting Clays Shoot. Mark Johnson won it … again! Master Chefs Chris Burke and Mark Johnson prepared an outdoor feast of alligator gumbo, buffalo meat loaf, and grilled venison steaks wrapped in bacon – need I say more?!? It was so delicious it was crazy…. and huge!
  • Kickoff Luncheon for 40th Annual Prayer Breakfast for Greater St. Louis – David Green, Founder of Hobby Lobby, shared his story of growing in business, navigating storms and growing in generosity. The luncheon highlighted the announcement of our upcoming prayer breakfast to be held on March 9, 2016 at the America’s Center – 40 years and going strong is a huge reason to celebrate!

Well, those are just a few of the things we do – and we thank you for your support! The basic DNA of the ministry is one-on-one discipleship. With over 120 lives currently involved in this life-on-life process, we stay committed to the mission … and we’re growing.

Got to go … burning daylight!
