Meet the Team
Stan Bower is the full-time Area Director for the St. Louis office of CBMC. He is a graduate of the University of Texas–Austin where he earned a BBA in Business Administration, and also attended Texas Tech, where his claim to fame was basketball. Stan spent most of his professional career in Houston, where he worked for Pennzoil, then launched his own commercial real estate company, Bower Interests. During his real estate career, Stan began to get involved with CBMC in the Houston area. Dave Rathkamp, CBMC Area Director in Houston, built a relationship with Stan and discipled him for over 13 years (Stan was a slow learner!). After those tremendous years of spiritual growth under Dave’s leadership, Stan entered full-time ministry with CBMC and moved his entire family to St. Louis in 1997 to become the Area Director. Stan’s heart, as is the heart of the ministry, is one-on-one discipleship. Stan and his wife, Laura, have four adult children and two grandchildren. Laura is a Baylor graduate and the author of WordSpeak. When Stan’s not stirring up chaos (in a good way) – you can find him on the golf course or hunting in the backwoods. You can recognize him easily by his cowboy hat and boots … some things never change!
Mike Baese is a full-time Area Director with the ministry of CBMC in St. Louis. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri-St. Louis and has a B.A. in Business Administration. Prior to joining the ministry in 2013, Mike spent 10 years working in the corporate world and held various management and sales positions at Fastenal, ADS and Amiad. He has been married to his better half (Michelle) for the past 13 years and they are blessed to have two extremely energetic children (Christian) and (Olivia). When Mike is not busy fulfilling the Great Commission, you can find him in his happy place – spending time with his family, hanging out in the woods or reading a systematic theology book.

He became the Director of Cook County Legal Assistance Foundation and later was a partner with Keck, Mahin, and Cate. Ed moved to St. Louis in 1982 and established a general law practice where he flourished for the remainder of his 50 years in law. His wife, Donna, overflows with the gift of hospitality; she is also Ed’s partner in the mission of discipleship. Between the two of them, they are blessed with four children and eight grandchildren. In their spare time, they enjoy being with their grandchildren, reading, entertaining, gardening and volunteering with Friends of Adam, a support group for an elementary school in the City of St. Louis.

In their spare time, they enjoy gardening, hunting, playing with grandchildren and family vacations at Table Rock Lake.
Tina Wesley serves in a variety of roles at CBMC St. Louis, one being Executive Assistant to Area Director – Stan Bower. Tina has a B.S. in Marketing from Southwest Missouri State University. Before joining CBMC, she worked for a St. Louis-based public relations firm and later did marketing for the local office of a national insurance company. Tina has been on staff with CBMC since 2001 and has a passion to share the grace of Jesus and walk alongside others as they grow in their faith. She has been very happily married to Paul for over 30 years - they have two grown children with a bonus of a son-in-law. They are all fans of furry, four-legged creatures and have adopted both a dog and a cat. Outside of ministry, Tina loves spending time with family (huge priority!), running, hiking, biking, and exploring the beauty of the outdoors, especially the mountains of Colorado (whenever she can get there).
Paula Gates is the Administrative Assistant for CBMC St. Louis, helping keep the ministry running smoothly and on track. She has lived in the St. Louis area her entire life. She spent 16 years as the Administrative Assistant for the Chairman and CEO of Cass Information Systems and Cass Commercial Bank. From the onset of Paula’s tenure at Cass, the Chairman offered her administrative skills to the Prayer Breakfast for Greater St. Louis, an annual event sponsored by CBMC St. Louis. She was responsible for facilitating ticket administration and table reservations. That was her introduction to a long relationship with Stan and Tina. She continued to work with the Prayer Breakfast through her entire career at Cass, and joined CBMC St. Louis in 2013. She and her husband, Andrew, have been married for eight years, and though they have no children, they are blessed with a very demanding cat. Paula enjoys watching movies, especially the classics, vacationing with the hubby to new and exciting locations, spending lots of fun time with her nephew, and nourishing her decorating passion by keeping a comfy-cozy, welcoming home.
